Would the ‘Ear Force XLC Stereo Headphones’ provide surround sound to hear the direction of footsteps in MW2?
I have been playing MW2 for Xbox360 for some time now and I would like to purchase a pair of headphones that will allow me to hear the direction of footsteps of Other players in MW2. I have an Xbox360 and a regular wireless controller. I would like to know if the ‘Ear Force XLC Stereo Headphones’ from Turtle Beach would allow me to hear the direction which the footsteps are coming from in MW2.
Here is a link to the headphones’ page on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Ear-Force-Stereo-Headset-Xbox-360/dp/B002PXRXNW
Something so small like that, probably you wouldn’t be able to hear them that well. If you are willing to spend more money, I’d go with the Turtle Beach X1 Headset http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efx1/home.aspx or if you want wireless the X3s http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efx3/home.aspx.
I have the X1s and they are great for games like Search and Destroy and Free-For-All but they are very loud on games like TDM or Domination. It’s definetely worth the $60 for the X1s.
The XLC is a stereo headset, so you can hear left/right sounds but not front/back sounds. Because the sound is right on top of your ears, you can clearly hear every sound cue in the game and react quicker. But if you want true surround sound, you’ll need the Turtle Beach X41 headset with Dolby surround.
